Processed Gridded Near-bottom Scanning Sonar Data (version 1) from the East Pacific Rise acquired during the Atlantis expedition AT11-20 (2004)
This data set was acquired with a Imagenex 881 Scanning Sonar on the HOV Alvin during Atlantis expedition AT11-20 conducted in 2004 (Chief Scientist: Dr. Marvin Lilley; Investigator(s): Dr. Vicki Ferrini). These data files are of ASCII:ESRI format and include gridded Bathymetry data and were processed after data collection. Data were acquired as part of the project(s): Biocomplexity: Smart Sensors for In Situ Monitoring of Hydrothermal Vent Systems, Establishing a Role for Fe and S Microbial Metabolism in Ocean Crust Weathering, Time-Series Larval Studies in the Deep Sea, and The Interaction of Microbial Biofilms and Fluid Chemistry on Larval Settlement, and funding was provided by NSF grant(s): OCE01-19999, OCE02-41791, and DOEI. This data was cited by Ferrini et al., 2007.
