Sonobuoy seismic data in the Hawaiian Lineation Jurassic Magnetic Quiet Zone, North Pacific Ocean, acquired by the R/V Thomas G. Thompson in 2011 (TN272)
This 2011 Thomas G. Thompson cruise surveyed the Hawaiian Lineation Jurassic Magnetic Quiet Zone (JMQZ). Objectives included collecting seismic data that would enable researchers to evaluate whether the Jurassic crust has been affected by later intra-plate Cretaceous volcanism. The survey collected multi-channel seismic reflection data and sonobuoy data. Funded by NSF grants EAR-1029965, OCE-1030430, OCE-1029573, and OCE-1029573.
