NZ3D seismic reflection data volume - Prestack Depth Migration (PSDM)
This is the prestack depth migrated seismic reflection data volume that was produced from multi-channel seismic lines acquired during the Langseth cruise MGL1801 as part of the NZ3D Hikurangi margin project in 2018. This SEG-Y file is a 3D migration produced by CGG in Singapore using a Kirchhoff 3D prestack depth migration algorithm. This volume includes advanced signal processing to remove multiples, source and receiver ghost, and other artifacts (see associated processing report for details). The volume was migrated after signal processing using seismic velocities derived from streamer data and 97 OBS provided by JAMSTEC. The velocity model was constructed as a 3D anisotropic (TTI) model using 3D full waveform and tomographic inversion (details are provided in the processing report, and the model is available here as a linked data set). The accompanying information document describes the 3D grid parameters including bin grid origin and orientation for workstation loading, the Data Parameters, the SEG-Y trace header, and the processing sequence. The data set was generated as part of the project called "A community 3-D seismic investigation of fault property controls on slow slip along the Hikurangi megathrust". Funding was provided through NSF awards: OCE15-58440, OCE15-58574, OCE15-59008, OCE15-59298.
