NZ3D seismic reflection data volume – Preliminary post-stack time migration (PSTM)
This is the preliminary data volume that was produced from this NZ3D Hikurangi margin project. This SEG-Y file is a post-stack 3D Kirchhoff migration prior to multiple suppression. The volume was produced from multi-channel seismic lines acquired during the Langseth cruise MGL1801 conducted along the Hikurangi margin in 2018.The goal of this preliminary processing was to conduct sufficient processing for an initial assessment of the data and preliminary interpretation. There is no multiple suppression, and the multiple interferes substantially. The results of this preliminary volume were used only for close examination of shallow structures above the seafloor multiple, and an overall assessment of the main structures below the seafloor multiple. Advanced processing to remove multiples, build accurate velocity models, and conduct prestack depth imaging were efforts that followed this initial volume. The accompanying information document describes the 3D grid parameters including bin grid origin and orientation for workstation loading, the Data Parameters, the SEG-Y trace header, and the processing sequence. The data set was generated as part of the project called "A community 3-D seismic investigation of fault property controls on slow slip along the Hikurangi megathrust". Funding was provided through NSF awards: OCE15-58440, OCE15-58574, OCE15-59008, OCE15-59298.
