Seismic:Reflection:MCS
Processed multichannel seismic data on the Gorda Escarpment and the transition between the Escarpment and Mendocino Ridge offshore Oregon, acquired during the R/V Maurice Ewing survey EW9905 (1999)
This 1999 Ewing cruise conducted a high-resolution seismic survey to image the structure of the southern flank of the Gorda Escarpment and the transition between the Escarpment and Mendocino Ridge offshore Oregon for the ORDGE (Origin and Development of the Gorda Escarpment) project. The objectives were to determine whether there are proto-San Andrea's faults in the Vincaino Block or sutures between blocks and the Ridge; to constrain the timing of the uplift of the Escarpment; and to study the origin and tectonic development of the Gorda Escarpment (ORDGE). Funded by NSF grant OCE 9811498.
