TAN2012 Navigation
Raw USBL navigation data acquired for the deep-towed electric field survey over the southern Hikurangi margin during Tangaroa cruise TAN2012 (2020)
This ultra-short baseline (USBL) navigation data set captures the position of the front of a deep-towed electromagnetic instrument array deployed in November 2020 during mapping of gas hydrate in the Pegasus Basin, New Zealand. There were two deep-tow dives, called senko_01 and senko_02, and the navigation for both is merged in this one data file. The file is in ASCII text format, with each line consisting of year, month, day, hour, minute, second, latitude, longitude, depth (m). The data file was generated as part of a project called Marine CSEM study of the southern Hikurangi Margin: A first step towards estimating the global gas hydrate carbon budget. Funding was from NSF award OCE-1916553.
