ROV Jason II dive navigation data at Axial Seamount (TN383, 2020)
A research cruise to Axial Seamount was conducted in 2020 with ROV Jason II and AUV Sentry during Thompson cruise TN383 (chief scientist Bill Chadwick). A total of five ROV Jason II dives were conducted in and around the seamount. The Jason II navigation data files provided here are in ASCII comma-separated text format, with column headers, and are sampled at one-second intervals. The navigation data was re-navigated post-dive to combining USBL acoustic navigation with DVL information. The navigation files here are either version 1 (delivered at sea) or version 2 (re-processed post-cruise to correct pitch, roll, and altitude values). The files for dives J2-1293, J2-1294, and J2-1297 are version 1 renav files. The files for dives J2-1295 and J2-1296 are version 2. The data set was collected and processed as part of the project called Advancing Deformation Monitoring Methods at Axial Seamount. Funding was provided from NSF awards OCE17-36882, OCE17-36926, OCE17-37019.
