Marine Geoscience Data System
HD-YLAKE CurrentMeasurement, Velocity:Doppler, WaveMeasurement
Wave and Current Data for the HD-YLAKE project, Yellowstone Lake, 2018
This data set was acquired with Nortek AWAC wave and current gauges deployed in shallow water (4-5 m) just offshore of Stevenson Island in Yellowstone Lake, Wyoming, for about six weeks during Summer, 2018 (Chief Scientist: Robert Sohn). The data files for each of the two gauges are in ASCII format; the file names include the station name. The file called "data_description.txt" contains the information required to understand the processed data and describes the content of the files. The data set was acquired with funding from NSF award EAR 1760056 to Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, which is part of a collaborative effort with the University of Utah (PIs: Jamie Farrell and Keith Koper) to study microseism generation in Yellowstone Lake (Collaborative Research: The Origin and Propagation of Shallow Water Microseisms: A Multidisciplinary Study at Yellowstone Lake).
