Merged, processed shipboard bathymetry grids and seafloor data (NBP2501, 2025)
This bathymetry grid is a combination of processed bathymetry from NBP2501, from part of NBP1502, and from GMRT (Global Multi-Resolution Topography) of maximum resolution. The GMRT data includes both NBP24-01 and NBP15-02 data, which are also acknowledged in our study. Bathymetric data and ancillary information (ship attitude, sound speed profiles, and navigation) from NBP2501 and NBP1502 are handled and cleaned via MB-System. The NBP2501 and NBP1502 data are processed separately to optimize the gridding resolution for varied maximum water depth in each region. These processed grids of up to 10 m horizontal resolution are further overlapped on GMRT grid of up to 60 m resolution. This combined grid is re-gridded to 10 m using nearest-neighbor techniques whereas the native/effective resolutions vary by region and GMRT data synthesis availability. The grid is in GeoTIFF grid format and was generated as part of a project called Heat Source and Flux Distributions in the Western Ross Sea Seafloor.
