Processed bathymetry data (GeoTIFF image format) of the Northern Corsican Cape Platform (Gombessa 6 CAP CORSE expedition, 2021-2023)
High-resolution bathymetry data sets were acquired during several campaigns of the Gombessa 6 CAP CORSE expedition whose goal was to understand and explain the origin of submarine circles called "coralligenous rings". These rings were discovered in 2006 by Pluquet and have been described as "coralligenous atolls" by Bonacorsi et al. (2012). The first bathymetry campaign, in 2021, used a Sonic 2022 (R2 sonic) multibeam echo sounder. The second campaign, in March 2023, used the DriX (Exail), an Unmanned Surface Vessel equipped with a EM2040 multibeam echo sounder. Finally, the third campaign, in summer 2023, used a WASSP Scientific S3 multibeam echo sounder. The raw data was processed using the softwares Qimera and Autoclean (Beamworx), and the Digital Terrain Model was generated using ArcGIS Desktop 10.6. The GeoTIFF image is in RGF93 / Lambert-93 projection. The Gombessa 6 Cap Corse project was led by Andromède Océanologie and supported by Manufacture de Haute Horlogerie Suisse Blancpain and Blancpain Ocean Commitment, the Prince Albert II de Monaco Foundation, the Société des explorations de Monaco, Office Français de la Biodiversité, Agence de l’eau Rhône-Méditerranée-Corse (French Water Agency), National Geographic Society, Iris Foundation and Lemarchand Foundation.
