Raw 2-D multi-channel seismic shot data (SEG-D) collected in the Wharton Basin during the 2009 TIDES project
This data set presents raw SEG-D 2-D MCS data from profile CGGV24 as part of the Tsunami Investigation–Deep Evaluation Seismic (TIDES) project in the Wharton Basin, eastern equatorial Indian Ocean. The MCS data was collected in 2009 with CGGVeritas survey vessel Geowave Champion using three solid-state streamers in an over/under configuration: Two 6 km-long streamers towed at depths of 7.5m and 15m, and one 15 km-long streamer towed at a depth of 22.5m. The sampling rate was 2 ms with a total record length of 20 seconds. The source consisted of 48 elements with a total volume of 9600 cu.in (157.3 L) towed at a water depth of 15m. The airgun array was fired at 50m intervals. The accompanying documents provide additional information on seismic survey acquisition parameters and configurations. The project was supported and funded by the chairman and chief executive officer of CGGVeritas.
