Near-bottom raw Deep Tow magnetics data from the East Pacific Rise at 17°S and 19°S (PANR06MV, 1998)
These raw magnetics profiles were collected using the Scripps Institution of Oceanography (SIO) deeply towed instrument package (Deep Tow) at 17°S and 19°S, East Pacific Rise, during the May 1998 cruise PANR06MV. The Deep Tow platform carried a 110 kHz sidescan sonar and a fluxgate magnetometer. These Deep Tow magnetic anomaly profiles are in ASCII format and present the data collected at observation height with no resampling. Data columns and units as follows: UNIX time, seconds UTC; Logitude, degrees E; Latitude, degrees N; Distance from axis, km; Tow fish depth, m; Bathymetry, m; Measured magnetic field, nT; Magnetic anomaly, nT. The data set was generated as part of the project called Towards quantifying eruptive timing and volcanic accretion on the Southern East Pacific Rise. Funding was provided by NSF award OCE21-28301.
