PANR06MV Sidescan
Near-bottom raw sidescan sonar Deep Tow data (mb132 format) from the East Pacific Rise at 17°S and 19°S (PANR06MV, 1998)
This data set presents raw sidescan sonar data collected using the Scripps Institution of Oceanography (SIO) deeply towed instrument package (Deep Tow) at 17°S and 19°S, East Pacific Rise, during the May 1998 cruise PANR06MV. The Deep Tow platform carried a 110 kHz sidescan sonar. The binary data files were originally recorded in SIO fish6 format, and have been converted to the MB-System-compatible .mb132 format (mbio format 132). The data set was generated as part of the project called Towards quantifying eruptive timing and volcanic accretion on the Southern East Pacific Rise. Funding was provided by NSF award OCE21-28301.
