MBARI Mapping AUV near-bottom processed sub-bottom data (SEG-Y format) at the Mid-Atlantic Ridge Puy des Folles Seamount, EMARK Massif, Falkor EMARK Vents, and Hydra (Grappe Deux) (2023)
This processed sub-bottom data set was collected with an Edgetech 2205 sonar/sub-bottom system flown at 50-m altitude on MBARI Mapping AUV mission surveys at four Mid-Atlantic Ridge sites: the summit of Puy des Folles Seamount from missions 20230310m1, 20230310m2, and 20230402m1; the EMARK Massif from missions 20230314m1, 20230314m2, 20230315m1, 20230316m1, 20230317m1, 20230317m2, 20230318m1, 20230319m1, 20230319m2; the Falkor EMARK Vents from missions 20230321m1, 20230321m2, and 20230323m1; and Hydra (Grappe Deux) from missions 20230325m1, 20230326m1, 20230328m1, and 20230329m1 (investigators David Caress, Jeffrey Beeson, Jennifer Paduan, Sharon Walker, David Butterfield). The data files are in SEG-Y format and contain processed 1-6 kHz CHIRP sub-bottom data. The AUV survey missions were conducted during the 2023 R/V Falkor (too) cruise FKt230303 (chief scientist David Butterfield) to the Mid-Atlantic Ridge. Funding was provided by the Schmidt Ocean Institute and a grant from the David and Lucile Packard Foundation to MBARI.
