Single-station microseismicity earthquake catalog, station KEMF, Endeavour Segment, Juan de Fuca ridge, 2011-2017
This microseismicity catalog is derived from a single ocean-bottom seismometer on the Endeavour Segment of the Juan de Fuca ridge (network code NV, station code KEMF). The seismometer was installed on the Ocean Networks Canada NEPTUNE cabled observatory. Earthquake origin times, ranges (hypocentral distance between earthquake and seismometer), moments, and moment magnitudes are provided for earthquakes between 26 September 2011 and 31 May 2017. The data file is in ASCII format. The first row is a column header that describes the content of the catalog: origin time of the earthquake in unix format ('time'), the range to earthquake in km ('eventRange(km)'), the earthquake moment in dyne-cm ('eventMoment(dyne-cm)'), and the earthquake moment magnitude. Each line of the file corresponds to one earthquake. Not all earthquakes have an estimated moment due to selection criteria. Earthquakes occurring between June 2012 and June 2013 are excluded due to instrumental noise. Details of the methods used to create this catalog may be found in the Krauss, Z., Wilcock, W.S., & Baillard, C. paper, "A single-station earthquake catalog for the Endeavour segment of the Juan de Fuca ridge (2011-2016): challenges and implications for the spreading cycle". The data set was generated as part of the project titled "Microearthquakes on the Endeavour Segment, Juan de Fuca Ridge: A Near Real Time Earthquake Catalog for the ONC Cabled Observatory and a Reanalysis of Historical Data". Funding was provided by NSF grant OCE-1833419.
