Marine Geoscience Data System
Loihi Seamount (Hawaii), summit and Pele's Pit, Sentry AUV near-bottom processed bathymetry data, GeoTIFF image format (2013)
This processed bathymetry data set for the Loihi Seamount summit and Pele's Pit area was collected during Sentry AUV dives Sentry165, Sentry166, Sentry167, Sentry169, Sentry171, and Sentry172. Note that the processed bathymetry data for the FeMO hydrothermal vent site collected during Sentry168 was gridded with the Sentry265 data collected during FK140625 (2014) - see Related Data Sets. The data files are in GeoTIFF image format and contain swath bathymetry data gridded at 5-meter and 2-meter horizontal resolution as indicated in the file name. The grids are in geographic coordinates. The AUV was operated by WHOI:NDSF, the dives were conducted during the 2013 R/V Thompson cruise TN293 with funding provided by NSF award OCE11-55756, and the data files were reprocessed by Jennifer Paduan (MBARI).
