Processed bathymetry data (GeoTIFF grid format) for Paterson Inlet, Stewart Island, New Zealand
This processed bathymetry data set was generated from multibeam data obtained from LINZ Data Service. The data file is in GeoTIFF grid format and is in the New Zealand Transverse Mercator 2000 (EPSG:2193) projection. The original multibeam data was collected with a multibeam instrument (model unknown) between August 2008 and March 2009 by a contractor working on behalf of Land Information New Zealand (LINZ). The multibeam line spacing in the original survey was 100m. The original multibeam data was converted to XYZ format and released by LINZ to the University of Otago under the Creative Commons 4.0 license. The XYZ files were uploaded to ArcGIS Pro and converted to a 1m x 1m bathymetric raster grid of Paterson Inlet using the Create ArcGIS TIN and TIN to Raster Toolboxes. This bathymetric grid was created to give students, particularly those at the University of Otago, a way to easily access bathymetric data for the Paterson Inlet, an area that is often used for teaching and research purposes.
