EW9409 Seismic Reflection/Refraction
Seismic:Navigation
Processed multichannel seismic data along the Aleutian arc and the extensive Alaskina continental shelf, acquired during the R/V Maurice Ewing survey EW9409 (1994)
The experiment was a collaborative effort between the University of Delaware, LDEO, UTIG, WHOI, Stanford University, and the USGS. The purpose of this multichannel seismic reflection survey of the Aleutian arc and the extensive Alaskina continental shelf was to obtain high-quality data that could be used to image the deep structure of the crust and uppermost mantle which, when combined with the well-mapped onshore geology, should allow the principal investigators to constrain the mechanisms of accretion and magmatism. Funded by NSF grants OCE94-12683, OCE94-12684, and OCE94-11541.
