Two-Dimensional P-Wave Velocity Models in Support of IODP Expeditions 390 and 393, South Atlantic Transect (MGL1601, CREST)
Gridded P-wave velocity models for five ridge-parallel wide-angle profiles acquired with active-source shooting during R/V Marcus Langseth CREST cruise MGL1601 in 2016 (co-chief scientists Robert Reece and Gail Christeson). Detailed modeling procedures are presented in Christeson et al. (2019). Models consist of four layers: water, sediment, basement, and mantle. The netCDF grid parameters are X-units: Model distance (km); Y-units: Depth (km); Z-units: P-wave velocity (km/s). These seismic velocity models are presented in Christeson et al. (2020). The data files are in GMT-compatible netCDF grid format and were generated as part of projects called Evolution of South Atlantic Oceanic Crust: A Seismic Transect; and, CREST: Crustal Reflectivity Experiment Southern Transect. Funding was provided by NSF awards OCE15-37108 and OCE15-37169.
