HD-YLAKE Temperature
Lake bed sediment temperature time series data for the HD-YLAKE project, Yellowstone Lake, 2016-2018
This data set consists of processed sediment temperature time series from custom thermal probes deployed in and around the Stevenson Island vent field, Yellowstone Lake, Yellowstone National Park, USA. Each probe was 1 m long, 2.5 cm in diameter, and contains seven thermistors with a 10 cm spacing. The thermal probes were deployed with ROV Yogi from R/V Annie which was operated by Global Foundation for Ocean Exploration. Each thermal probe deployment was approximately for one year, from August to August. The data have been processed to convert from resistance to temperature using calibrations for each thermistor. The data files are in ASCII format and give the temperature value at each thermistor. Each data file also includes a header that defines the data columns. The data set was generated as part of the Hydrothermal Dynamics of Yellowstone Lake (HD-YLAKE) project and was supported by National Science Foundation grant EAR15-15283.
