Hypocenter Catalog Data from the Mid-Atlantic Ridge - Rainbow Vent Field acquired in 2013
This data set was acquired with Scripps Institution of Oceanography LC4X4 Ocean Bottom Seismometers deployed during R/V Marcus G. Langseth expedition MGL1305 in 2013 (Chief Scientist: Dr. Juan Pablo Canales, Investigators: Dr. Robert Sohn, Dr. Juan Pablo Canales, Dr. Robert Dunn). OBS recovery took place during R/V Pelagia cruise 64PE382. These data files are of Text File (ASCII) format and include Hypocenter Catalog data that were processed after acquisition. The hypocenter catalog is in space delimited text (ASCII) format. The first column is the event origin time. Note that depth is relative to sea level (i.e., -3.0 equals 3 km below sea level). The RMS value is the misfit of the hypocenter location, and only those events with RMS < 0.2 s were published in the journal article, but all locatable events are listed in this catalog. Data were acquired as part of the project(s): Collaborative Research: MARINER: Seismic Investigation of the Rainbow Hydrothermal Field and its Tectono/magmatic Setting, Mid-Atlantic Ridge 36 Degrees 14'N.
