Residual Free-Air Gravity Anomalies at Global Subduction Zones (investigators Dan Bassett and Tony Watts)

This data set presents images showing residual free-air gravity anomalies for global subduction zones. Residuals are calculated by subtracting a regional spectral average of the trench-normal gravimetric expression across the subduction zone. This procedure removes the steep gradients associated with the seaward and landward trench-slopes, significantly improving the identification of short-wavelength lower-amplitude structure. The image files are in PDF format and were generated from gridded data files. The residual gravity is cited in Bassett and Watts, 2015a,b.
