EW9416 Bathymetry:Singlebeam, Gravity:Field, Magnetic:Field

Ship-based Trackline Geophysical Data (MGD77) acquired during the Maurice Ewing expedition EW9416 (1994)

This data set was acquired with a ship-based Varian Inc. V75 Magnetometer, Atlas Hydrosweep DS Multibeam Sonar system, and BellAerospace BGM-3 Gravimeter during Maurice Ewing expedition EW9416 conducted in 1994 (Chief Scientist: Dr. Robert Detrick). These data files are of MGD77 format and include Gravity Field, Magnetic Field, and Singlebeam Bathymetry data and were processed after data collection. Data were acquired as part of the project(s): A Seismic Experiment at Hole 504B: Correlation of Geologic and Seismic Structure, and funding was provided by NSF grant(s): OCE90-00603 and OCE93-01058.

Single Channel Streamer Details from Cruise Report:"The SCS streamer is configured with a 188 m leader, a 25 m stretch section, and four active sections totaling 137 m (12.5 m, 25 m, 50 m and 50 m). The data are recorded on DMS2000 data tapes on channels 4 (raw data) and channel 5 (attenuated by a factor of 20 across the entire frequency band of 0-160 Hz) (note: a total of 8 channels are recorded on the data tape, channels 1-3 and 6-8 are dummy channels)." NOTE: We assume the 4 streamer sections were summed before being recorded. There are actually 12 traces for each single channel line on tape
