MGL1907 Backscatter:Acoustic
Processed acoustic backscatter data from the Alaska-Aleutians area acquired during Langseth cruise MGL1907 (2019)
This data set was derived from Kongsberg EM122 multibeam sonar data acquired during the 2019 R/V Marcus G. Langseth cruise MGL1907 (Co-Chief Scientists: Geoff Abers and Peter Haeussler. Investigators: Anne Becel, Anne Sheehan, William Danforth, Emma Myers, Peter Haeussler, Geoff Abers, Aubreya Adams, Emily Roland, Susan Schwartz, Donna Shillington, Spahr Webb, Douglas Wiens, Lindsay Worthington). The data files were processed in QPS FMGT (Geocoder Toolbox) and gridded at 125m cell resolution for the entire survey. The data files are in GeoTIFF grid format and contain acoustic backscatter intensity values ranging from 0 (black) – 255 (white). The data has been processed with the help of the Apply-to-Sail participants: Igor Eufrasio, Heather Fisher, Cong Li, Ginevra Moore, Em Schnorr, Zhenyang Zhou. The data set was generated as part of the project called the Alaska Amphibious Community Seismic Experiment (AACSE). Funding was provided by NSF award OCE16-54568.
