3.5 kHz processed seismic data collected by a ferry boat, the Mozorola, and a barge, the Morrito #2, in Lake Nicaragua (May 6-24, 2006) and Lake Managua (May 26-31, 2006)
Principal investigators chartered a ferry boat, the Mozorola, and a barge, the Morrito #2, to conduct this survey of Lake Nicaragua (May 6-24, 2006) and Lake Managua (May 26-31, 2006) (respectively). The objectives were to test deformation models related to oblique subduction and to investigate the longer term geologic history of the Nicaragua depression. The research team collected high-resolution seismic data, 3.5 kHz subbottom profiles, sidescan data, and cores.
