Marine Geoscience Data System
TN214 Backscatter:Acoustic, Bathymetry:Swath
Raw multibeam swath bathymetry data from the Quebrada-Discovery-Gofar (QDG) transform fault area acquired during R/V Thompson cruise TN214 (2007-2008)
These multibeam swath files were collected with a Kongsberg Simrad EM300 multibeam sonar swath system in Dec 207 - Jan 2008 aboard R/V Thompson cruise TN214, as part of the Quebrada-Discovery-Gofar (QDG) Transform Fault Experiment, Leg 1 - OBS Deployment (chief scientist Jeff McGuire). These raw data files are in MBSystem-compatible format (mbio format 56). The data set was generated as part of the projects called Oceanic Transform Faulting: Foreshocks, Seismic and Aseismic Slip on the Quebrada, Discovery and Gofar Transforms; and, A Seafloor Geodesy Experiment at the Discovery Transform Fault. Funding was through NSF awards OCE03-51143 and OCE02-42117.
