Abstract:
This raw sidescan and sub-bottom data set was collected with an Edgetech 2205 sonar/sub-bottom system on MBARI's Mapping AUV (MAUV1) on missions 20210728m1 and 20210801m1, in 2021. The data files are in JSF format (compatible with MB-System as mbio format 132) and contain raw sidescan and sub-bottom data. For these two MAUV1 missions - 20210728m1 and 20210801m1 - real-time navigation was embedded in the files as a temporary experiment. The AUV survey mission was conducted during the 2021 cruise on R/V Rachel Carson along the Cascadia Margin. Cruise Chief Scientists - David Caress, Charles Paull; PI - Jenna Hill; and, investigators: Jenifer B. Paduan, Eve Lundsten and Janet Watt. Data were acquired as part of a collaborative research project between MBARI and the U.S. Geological Survey. Funding for the AUV mapping was provided from the David and Lucile Packard Foundation.
