Title:
Species presence/absence, abundance and distribution data (Excel spreadsheets) from the Long Island Sound Phase I and II areas (1975-2023)
Abstract:
These data files provide the results of a variety of analyses conducted from the historical and modern data sets. The minimum analysis for the data was to document presence/absence of the key species identified by the AECR project. For the 2023 diver images, more detailed analyses were conducted, including point count data used to derive percent cover of the key species in the images analyzed. The historical diver files contain a summary of the presence/absence of a wide range of species observed, as well as tabs for the key taxa identified by the project. There is also a data file summarizing the presence/absence results from both images and historical log books. The historical ROV files include detailed metadata and log notes and presence/absence of the key taxa and other species. The PISSAH data files include a summary of the videos and images analyzed and a data set of the presence/absence of the key taxa and a tab of presence/absence of a wider range of taxa observed. The data files are in Excel spreadsheet format. Funding was provided by the Long Island Sound Cable Fund Seafloor Habitat Mapping Initiative administered cooperatively by the EPA Long Island Sound Study and the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP).
