Title:
Processed bathymetry data (netCDF grid) from the eastern Chain ridge transform intersection (RTI) in the equatorial Atlantic Ocean collected as part of the 2018 ILAB-SPARC cruise
Abstract:
The bathymetry data were acquired using a hull-mounted Reson Seabat 7150 12/24 kHz deep water system, operated at 12 kHz (for depth from 100 m up to 12000 m) containing 880 equidistant beams and a swath width of around 5 times the water depth. The beam resolution was 1° by 1°. The acquisition software was PDS2000. Processing of the bathymetry data was done using CARAIBES v5.0 software to remove the outlier data points. The final processed data were gridded at 50 m × 50 m and exported as a GMT-compatible netCDF .grd file. The data set was generated as part of the project called Imaging Lithosphere Asthenosphere Boundary–St. Paul, Romanche and Chain (ILAB-SPARC). The ILAB-SPARC cruise was funded by the European Research Council Advanced grant no. 339442 TransAtlanticILAB awarded to Dr. Satish Singh.
