Abstract:
These two-dimensional velocity models are derived from full-waveform inversion of multichannel seismic data collected at the Blanco Transform Fault during 2004 Ewing cruise EW0410. The velocity grid files are in GMT-compatible netCDF grid format with grid parameters as follows: X values are distance in km along profile; Y values are depths in km below the sea surface; Z values are P-wave velocities in m/s. The data set was generated as part of the projects called "Correlation of Seismic Structure with Observed Outcrop Geology: MCS/OBS Investigation of Hess Deep and Blanco Transform" and "Seismic Waveform Inversion Study of the Layer 2A/2B Boundary in Young Oceanic Crust", with funding from NSF awards OCE01-37286 and OCE08-53523 and NERC award NE/F010443/1.
