Abstract:
This data set was generated during an active-source seismic study of the Costa Rica convergent margin spanning the Middle America Trench and Nicoya Peninsula. The seismic study was part of a project called the Trans Isthmus Costa Rica Scientific Exploration of a Crustal Transect (TICOSECT). The data were acquired in 1995 using airgun shots from Maurice Ewing cruise EW9502 that were recorded by OBSs and land seismometers. The grid of seismic P-wave velocity is in GMT-compatible netCDF format. The x-coordinate is profile distance in km (grid interval 0.25 km), the y-coordinate is depth in km (grid interval 0.02 km), and the z-values are P-wave velocities in km/s.
