Abstract:
This data set was generated as part of the 2010 GUlf of Mexico Basin Opening (GUMBO) program that collected wide-angle seismic refraction profiles in the northern Gulf of Mexico to better constrain crustal structure in the region. This data set presents the seismic P-wave velocity model layer parameters for the eastern profile, GUMBO line 4, which extends for a distance of 507 km from offshore northwestern Florida, across the continental shelf and Florida Escarpment, and into the central Gulf of Mexico. The velocity model layers file is in ASCII format with three columns: First column is Layer number (1=seafloor; 2=sediment-basement interface; 3=Moho); Second column is Model distance (km); Third column is Depth (km). The GUMBO seismic refraction survey was conducted during late 2010 using M/V Iron Cat operated by Reservoir Geophysical. The project was funded through ExxonMobil.
