Abstract:
This data set was acquired with a Seapoint Sensors, Inc. Optical Backscatter Sensor, Navigation System,Sea-Bird Electronics SBE-49 FastCAT CTD, 1540 Magnetometer and Device Information Not Provided on AUV Sentry during R/V Atlantic Explorer expedition AE1823 conducted in 2018 (Chief Scientist: Dr. James Kinsey). These data files are of NDSF SCC Text File (ASCII) format and include Magnetic Field, Navigation, Optical Backscatter, Oxygen and Temperature data that were processed after acquisition and sampled at 1Hz. Data were acquired as part of the projects: Collaborative Research: Persistent Presence in the Ocean Interior: Developing a Low-power, Autonomous System for Geo-referenced Navigation; Development of a Low-Cost True-North Seeking Fiber Optic Gyrocompass and Integrated Doppler Navigation System for Precision Navigation of Underwater Vehicles for Ocean Science. Funding was provided by NSF Awards: OCE14-35818, OCE16-34298.
