Abstract:
This data set was derived from Kongsberg Maritime EM302 and EM710 multibeam sonar data acquired during the 2019 R/V Falkor expedition FK190612 investigating the Cascadia subduction zone deformation front offshore Washington state and Oregon. The data files were processed by the U.S. Geological Survey using QPS FMGT (Geocoder Toolbox) and gridded at 30m cell resolution for the entire survey. The backscatter grid files are in GeoTIFF image format and contain acoustic backscatter intensity values ranging from 0 (black) – 255 (white). Funding was provided by Schmidt Ocean Institute and U.S. Dept of Energy - USGS Interagency Agreement DE-FE0023495 to examine Cascadia margin seep dynamics and processes at different locations and on several timescales during the June 2019 cruise.
