Title:
Three-dimensional upper crustal velocities beneath the East Pacific Rise 9º50'N
Abstract:
The data set consists of a 3-D full-waveform inversion (FWI) model of compressional velocities within the upper crust beneath the East Pacific Rise 9º50'N. The velocity model was obtained using 3-D multi-channel seismic data collected in 2008 during the MGL0812 experiment aboard R/V Marcus G. Langseth (PIs: John Mutter, Suzanne Carbotte). We use ~90 000 shot gathers; Only mid-to-far source-receiver offsets (2-6 km) are included in the inversion. The final velocity model is obtained after 15 iterations using frequencies up to 7 Hz. The details on the inversion parameters and modeling are provided in Marjanović et al. (2018). The model is provided as an ASCII file. The size of the grid is 441 x 551 x 200 (x,y,z) grid points with the horizontal and vertical spacing 100 m and 25 m, respectively. The origin of the grids is Easting=562090; Northing=1045620; UTM Zone=13; Azimuth of the 3-D box =8º. This velocity model work was funded by Marie S. Curie Individual Fellowship (No: 655283 3DWISE).
