Abstract:
Near-bottom multibeam bathymetry data were collected with the MBARI Mapping AUV on 8 missions in February 2022 to cover the octopus brooding sites "Octopus Garden" and "Octocone". The grid file presented here is in GMT-compatible netCDF format and the projection is UTM zone 10N. The AUV was operated at 50-m altitude for 1-m lateral resolution data. Position and attitude were provided by a Kearfott SeaDevil Inertial Navigation System (INS) integrated with a 1200 kHz Teledyne RD Instruments Doppler velocity log (DVL) and a Paroscientific pressure sensor, and the navigation has been adjusted and tied to a GPS-navigated regional bathymetry grid using the MB-System mbnavadjust program. Funding was provided by a grant from the David and Lucile Packard Foundation to MBARI.
