NZ3D velocity data volume – 3D TTI Full Waveform Inversion (3DTTIFWI)
Abstract:
This is the velocity model used for the 3D PSDM seismic volume that is available here. It was constructed by CGG from streamer data and 97 OBS provided by JAMSTEC. The velocity model was produced by 3D full waveform and tomographic inversion that included tilted transverse isotropy (TTI) (details are provided in the associated processing report).The accompanying information document describes the 3D grid parameters including bin grid origin and orientation for workstation loading, the Data Parameters, the SEG-Y trace header, and the processing sequence. Note that the volume is sampled at every 3rd inline and every 4th crossline. The data set was generated as part of the project called "A community 3-D seismic investigation of fault property controls on slow slip along the Hikurangi megathrust".
