Title:
Processed OBS seismic refraction data from the 2018 SISIE seismic survey (MGL1803)
Abstract:
The data set presents OBS data in segy format. In the SISIE marine seismic reflection and refraction experiment, two long-offset marine seismic refraction lines were gathered in 2018 with R/V Marcus Langseth during cruise MGL1803. These lines are MGL1803OBS01 and MGL1803OBS02. The Langseth shots were recorded by four-component, short-period ocean-bottom seismometers of the University of Texas Institute for Geophysics (UTIG). The direct wave from the shot to the instrument was used for timing corrections and relocation of the instrument on the seafloor. These segy files have been updated with the corrected timing, instrument locations, and source-receiver offsets. This version of the OBS data has not been filtered. The data files are in SEG-Y format and were generated as part of the project called SISIE: South Island, New Zealand, Subduction Initiation Experiment. Funding was provided through NSF grants OCE16-54689 and OCE16-54766.
