Abstract:
This data file is the residual mantle bouguer anomaly (RMBA) and crustal age along the seismic profile. The RMBA (units mgal) was calculated by first removing from the free-air gravity anomaly (Sandwell et al., 2014) the gravitational effects of the water-sediment and sediment-crust interfaces (Parker, 1973). The gravitational effect of lithospheric plate cooling was modeled (Kuo and Forsyth, 1988) and removed to derive the residual mantle bouguer anomaly (see caption of figure 3c in Audhkhasi et al., 2020). The crustal age of the seafloor was taken from Muller et al. (2008). The data is cited in Audhkhasi et al., 2020 and the work was funded by the ERC Advance Grant agreement No. 339442 TransAtlanticILAB. The lead investigator is Satish Singh.
