Abstract:
These velocity model layer parameter files are for the 2-D P-wave velocity models of Christeson et al. (2020). They are in ASCII format with three columns: First column is Layer number (1=seafloor; 2=sediment-basement interface; 3=Moho); Second column is Model distance (km); Third column is Depth (km). The P-wave velocity models were generated for five ridge-parallel wide-angle profiles from data acquired with active-source shooting during R/V Marcus Langseth CREST cruise MGL1601 in 2016 (co-chief scientists Robert Reece and Gail Christeson). These velocity model layer parameter files were generated as part of projects called Evolution of South Atlantic Oceanic Crust: A Seismic Transect; and, CREST: Crustal Reflectivity Experiment Southern Transect. Funding was provided by NSF awards OCE15-37108 and OCE15-37169.
