Title:
Bathymetric site survey gridded data in support of IODP expeditions 390 and 393, South Atlantic Transect (MGL1601, CREST)
Abstract:
Bathymetry site survey data were acquired using a Kongsberg EM-122 system during R/V Marcus Langseth CREST cruise MGL1601 in 2016 (co-chief scientists Robert Reece and Gail Christeson). Data were processed using standard procedures with CARIS software (Quick et al., 2009). CREST bathymetric data were combined with legacy multibeam data at the ridge axis from the Global Multi-Resolution Topography synthesis (Ryan et al., 2009) using Generic Mapping Tools (Wessel et al., 2019), and all data were gridded at an interval of ~100 m (0.001° in latitude and longitude). Data are presented in Christeson et al. (2020). The data files are in GMT-compatible netCDF grid format and were generated as part of projects called Evolution of South Atlantic Oceanic Crust: A Seismic Transect; and, CREST: Crustal Reflectivity Experiment Southern Transect. Funding was provided by NSF awards OCE15-37108 and OCE15-37169.
