Abstract:

This data set was acquired with a ship-based Atlas Hydrosweep DS2 Multibeam Sonar system during Maurice Ewing expedition EW0408 conducted in 2004 (Chief Scientist: Dr. Alan Mix). These data files are of MBSystem format and include Swath Bathymetry, Sidescan, and Acoustic Backscatter data and were processed by the GMRT Team using the open source MB-System multibeam sonar processing software as part of the GMRT Synthesis effort. These data are included in the GMRT Synthesis, version 2.0. Data were acquired as part of the project(s): Developing a Paleoceanographic and Paleoclimatic Record from the Fjords and Continental Margin of Southeast Alaska and Establishing Quaternary Climate/Terrestrial/Oceanic Linkages in Southern Alaska and IODP Site Survey, and funding was provided by NSF grant(s): OCE02-41828, OCE02-42084, OCE03-51043, OCE03-51062, OCE03-51075, OCE03-51089, OCE03-51096, OCE03-51620, and OCE04-55183.
