Abstract:
This data set was acquired with a ship-based Atlas Hydrosweep DS Multibeam Sonar system during Maurice Ewing expedition EW9605 conducted in 1996 (Chief Scientist: Dr. Bruce Appelgate). These data files are of MBSystem format and include Sidescan, Swath Bathymetry, and Acoustic Backscatter data and were processed by the GMRT Team using the open source MB-System multibeam sonar processing software as part of the GMRT Synthesis effort. These data are included in the GMRT Synthesis, version 1. Data were acquired as part of the project(s): Time-Transgressive Deformational Effects of Oblique Underthrusting of Aseismic Ridges on the Puerto Rico Trench and Island Slope, and funding was provided by NSF grant(s): OCE95-03628, OCE95-04118, OCE95-04340, and OCE97-96189.
