Title:
Processed multichannel seismic data across the Marquesas and Society Islands hotspot chains in the south-central Pacific, acquired during the R/V Maurice Ewing survey EW9103 (1991)
Abstract:
The goal of this project was to image the deep structure beneath two hotspot chains in the south-central Pacific: the Marquesas and Society Islands. The initial expedition shot a series of multichannel seismic reflection lines across the volcanic chains with initial velocity information supplied by sonobuoys. The data were supplemented during a later expedition by refraction information using airguns and ocean bottom seismometers. Funded by NSF grant OCE8817764.
