Abstract:
A major component of the Nankai Trough Seismogenic Zone Experiment (NanTroSEIZE), this collaborative effort used the commercial services of PGS to collect 3D, deep-penetrating, multichannel seismic reflection data on board the M/V Nordic Explorer (KUMANO3D). The goal was to obtain data that would define the fundamental geometry, history and physical properties of the multiple faults that compose the up-dip end of the seismogenic zone. Funding was provided by NSF grants OCE-0451790, OCE-0452340, OCE-0451602, and OCE-0451508.
