Abstract:
This data set presents residual bathymetry anomalies for global subduction zones. Residuals are calculated by subtracting a regional spectral average of the trench-normal bathymetric expression across the subduction zone. This procedure removes the steep gradients associated with the seaward and landward trench-slopes, significantly improving the identification of short-wavelength lower-amplitude structure. The gridded data files are in GMT netCDF format and are cited in Bassett and Watts, 2015a,b.
