Title:
Tide Height Data measured by RTK GPS for correcting multibeam sonar bathymetry data acquired in Fire Island Inlet in 2013
Abstract:
This data set was acquired with a Trimble SPS-651 Global Positioning System (GPS) during multibeam surveys conducted near Fire Island in 2013 (Chief Scientist: Dr. Roger Flood). These data files are of Text File (ASCII) format and include Tide Height and position data. Tide Height measurements are offset to the water level (4.35 m below the GPS antenna) and the transducer offsets are made with respect to the water level (WLZ=0). Files include 6-minute positions and water-level elevations used to process multibeam data. Data were acquired as part of the project: Rapid Grant: Collaborative Investigations of the Impact of Superstorm Sandy on the South Shore of Long Island. Funding was provided by NSF award(s): OCE13-22746.
