Title:
Processed Time-Series Current Measurements from the East Pacific Rise at 9N acquired during the Atlantis expeditions AT15-12 (2006) and AT15-14 (2006)
Abstract:
These data were acquired with moored RDI Workhorse ADCP Sonars deployued during Atlantis expedition AT15-12 conducted in 2006 (Chief Scientist: Dr. Andreas Thurnherr), and recovered during Atlantis expedition AT15-14 (Chief Scientist: Dr. James Ledwell). These data files are of NetCDF format and include Current Measurement data that were processed after data collection. Each file contains the time series of a given bin: (1) RDI_file: raw data file name, (2) bin: bin number, (3) dz: height above transducer (not corrected for sound-speed variations), (4) first_ens: first ensemble in file, (5) last_ens: last ensemble in file, (6) N_ensembles: number of ensembles in file, (7) mag_decl: magnetic declination (applied), (8) pct_good_vels: percentage of valid velocities in this bin, beginning/end of time series covers deployment/recovery; on the basis of pitch/roll observations, the good time series spans ensembles 13--3246 (Note: bin1 should be discarded, because 0 blanking distance was used). Data were acquired as part of the project(s): LADDER: LArval Dispersal on the Deep East Pacific Rise and Larval Dispersal Along the Deep East Pacific Rise (LADDER), and funding was provided by NSF grant(s): OCE04-24953 and OCE04-25361.
