Marine Geoscience Data System
Seafloor crustal age data, East Pacific Rise, 12N-16N (2011, investigator Marie-Helene Cormier)
Seafloor crustal age data for the East Pacific Rise between 12N-16N. The data set is derived from magnetization data in which magnetic reversals were digitised and converted to seafloor age based on a reversal timescale. The age data was gridded at an interval of 0.5 arc minute (about 900 m) using a continuous curvature spline algorithm. The data set is cited in Cormier et al., 2011. The data file is in netCDF:GMT grid format and was generated as part of the project called Kinematic and Gravity Study of the Northern East Pacific Rise and Its Flanks: Propagating Ridges and Melt Supply. Funding was provided by NSF award OCE96-29903.
